Choosing a Perfect Holiday Home

Here are a few simple guidelines, from our experienced team, to help you choose the perfect holiday home:

Who will use your Holiday Home?

594A8159If you intend to share your home with other family members or friends it makes good sense, at the outset, to include their needs and requirements in your thinking processes. This is important in terms of location, type of Park and type of Holiday Home.

It is also worth mentioning that the range of facilities varies from park to park and also the range off-site amenities.  If you intend to rent out your Holiday Home then it makes sense to consider facilities not only in terms of personal use but also how they may impact on the rentability of your Home.

Location

The geographic location of your new holiday home impacts on a number of considerations.
  • Travelling time will affect how often you use your new home.  A location may seem perfect, but if it is a long or difficult journey you will not visit as often as you would an easier place to reach.
  • Rental demand may be important to you if you intend to sublet your home – no point in being situated in a low-demand location.  Rental demand also affects how your location will change with the seasons.  In the peak of summer travel times and just getting around may take longer.
  • Coastal, countryside or somewhere inbetween?  With such a varied range of quality parks to choose from it makes sense to prioritise the type of location that best suits your requirements.

Type of Park

The spectrum ranges from absolute peace and quiet to all action family Parks and everything in between. Some Parks are designed to offer lots of activities but have quieter areas for people who prefer quieter but have family members with varied requirements.

Make a list of your requirements and then, if appropriate, add those of others who are likely to use your Holiday Home. Look at the annual running costs as these vary from Park to Park

Type of Holiday Home

Once you have dealt with all the other considerations it is time to choose your perfect Holiday Home. The range of Caravans and Lodges is wide and varied. Budget will play a large role in your decision-making but try and buy what works for your needs. Investing in a Holiday Home is an investment in your leisure time, and getting maximum use and enjoyment from your home is a fantastic return on that investment.
