Blackadder holiday park
Our park is located in the picturesque village of Greenlaw, nestled within the beautiful Lammermuir Hills. Spanning fifteen acres of meticulously maintained grassland, it offers a serene environment for visitors.
The park takes its name from the enchanting Blackadder Water, which flows through its heart, showcasing a diverse range of wildlife. The site holds the prestigious designation by Scottish Natural Heritage as a special area of conservation, highlighting its significance in preserving threatened species like Atlantic Salmon, Otters, and various Lamprey species. In this idyllic setting, one can often spot graceful herons and playful otters along the riverbanks, adding to the charm of this remarkable holiday destination.
Blackadder Holiday Park boasts an exceptional location, perfectly positioned to serve as your base for exploring the picturesque Scottish Borders. You’ll find yourself in close proximity to charming Border towns such as Kelso, Melrose, Peebles, and Duns, each just a stone’s throw away from the park. Additionally, you can easily access renowned landmarks such as Mellerstain, Floors, Traquair, Thirlestane, and Abbotsford, the historic residence of Sir Walter Scott.
Within the vicinity, the Rhymer’s Stone stands as a symbol of mystic lore, marking the spot where legend has it that Thomas the Rhymer encountered the Fairy Queen beneath the Eildon Tree. It is said that upon his return, he possessed the gift of prophecy and an inability to speak anything but the truth. Today, the Rhymer’s Stone is a popular viewpoint, offering breathtaking vistas of Leaderfoot and the summit of Black Hill.
